Brett Hughes graduated from the University of NSW with a Bachelor of Medical Science and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1997. He completed his postgraduate training and was admitted as a Fellow of the Australian College of Physicians as a Specialist Medical Oncologist in 2005. Brett is a Senior Staff Specialist Medical Oncologist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and The Prince Charles Hospital. He is also an Associate Professor at the University of Queensland since 2015. He is the current Medical Oncology Research lead in Thoracic and Head & Neck cancers at RBWH/TPCH. He has an active research interest in head & neck cancer, thoracic malignancies and thyroid cancer and has published over 150 articles including practice change work in immunotherapy and targeted therapy.
