I work as Professor in the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai, with 17 years of academic and clinical experience. I specialize in the diagnosis and medical management of oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs). My scientific trajectory has evolved from clinical diagnosis of OPMDs to translational research focusing on biomarker-based early detection strategies and development of novel therapeutic drugs for medical management. My research integrates clinical expertise and molecular research, with thrust on tobacco-related mucosal disorders and oral cancer risk assessment for which I have secured multiple extramural grants.
