Prof. Kazuto Matsuura graduated from Tohoku University School of Medicine in 1990. He became Head of Head and Neck Surgery at Miyagi Cancer Center in 2004, Director of Medical Affairs in 2017, and Vice President in 2018. In 2019, he joined National Cancer Center Hospital East as Head of Head and Neck Surgery and was appointed Vice President for Education in 2025. He specializes in advanced head and neck cancer surgery, functional preservation, and perioperative care. He is principal investigator of the multicenter phase III PreSte-HN Study and serves on the boards of five major Japanese medical societies.
