Laura-Jayne works in South Tyneside and Sunderland leading the head and neck cancer Speech and Language therapy team. She is currently in receipt of a National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) doctoral-clinical academic fellowship (DCAF), investigating community care for people with a laryngectomy and their families. Laura-Jayne is also involved in other national and international research projects and is current co-chair of the Head and Neck Clinical Excellence Network. Laura-Jayne is passionate about providing holistic, evidence-based services to people with head and neck cancer and their families, as well as supporting other clinicians to pursue clinical-academic careers.
