Professional Bio
Nicole O’Donnell is a speech pathologist at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and PhD candidate at The University of Queensland, researching supportive care for people with head and neck cancer. She has over 15 years of clinical experience across cancer care, with a strong interest in how treatment side effects shape function, wellbeing, and service development. Nicole’s research combines qualitative and quantitative approaches to better understand patient experiences and guide improvements in multidisciplinary care. Her current thesis includes a series of studies exploring toxicity profiles, supportive care gaps, and opportunities to strengthen allied health involvement for head and neck cancer patients receiving immunotherapy.
